Simply getting away from all the electronic distractions (er, apart from a laptop, solely for emergency DVD-based babysitting) and having nothing but a few layers of canvas as your base for a few days is great. Plus, lets not forget the fire.<br /><br />Burning stuff is the best part about camping. It doesn't matter how well the fire is going, or even how hot it is, its just good to throw more wood on it. Got any leftover food from dinner? Burn it. Rubbish? Burn it. Just tripped over a small stick? It's history.<br /><br />I was walking home from work one night a week after getting back from three days camping.
